Here strikes the latest pictures of alleged to be Research in Motion’s next-generation Blackberry operating system, and furthermore the reports unveil a platform that gazes like a mix of Windows Phone’s large home-screen and Android’s app selection menu.
On the other hand it can be considered as a Blackberry OS that in fact belongs to the 21st century, although the question is whether or not it’s too little too late. The tale of Blackberry in the last couple of years is perhaps the most extreme instance of how the mobile market has changed from the time when the introduction of the iPhone and Android.
Once known as a behemoth in the smartphone industry, Blackberry is currently looked as ancient and immaterial. The problem is RIM merely did not adapt to the changing environment. It was thinking that it was too big to fail, and even when it started losing 100’s of customers to the Apple and Google alternatives, it had a mindset that in any case it would always have corporate enterprise users in its grip.
However that strategy didn’t work out, since more and more companies are leaving their employee Blackberries and replacing them with Apple’s iPhones. At this moment, lastly it has realized that it needs to change its OS and the change should need a completely brand fresh interface, which has no signs of the antiquated Blackberry OS whatever.
The new images of Blackberry operating system show an OS that works exactly. But although it’s a huge move forward for Blackberry, it’s indistinct if the latest platform will be truly differentiated from Android, iOS, or Windows Phone.
