LightPad – A Pico Projector with Keyboard, Turns Phone into Laptop

Here we go with the latest news striking from the Consumer Electronic Show 2012 in Las Vegas, where in the LightPad is a pico projector mixed with a keyboard and trackpad, which may perhaps soon be a standard feature on smartphones.
According to the official reports from the Company, once the LightPad is plugged in to your Smartphone, thereafter it beams out whatever is on the screen to a nearby wall. However the key feature of this product is you can flip up the lid and turn it into a laptop of sorts, and it has as well got a virtual mouse.
This is not the fresh idea in the market already Motorola has unveiled a feature similar to this in its Atrix smartphone that can plug into a laptop-like dock and create a portable computer. The major difference over here is that there’s no LCD display to speak of.
The LightPad has more advanced visual features. It has 854-by-480-pixel display that will provide a great experience to the user. A second-generation model planned for release next year assuring to bump it up to 1,280-by-720 pixels. And whereas it wasn’t on display, the projector can throw images up to 40 inches diagonally.
The product is built with a high power battery which has the ability to supply power for continues five hours usage , quite fascinatingly with next year’s model jumping to 7 hours usage. The next-generation model as well promises to cut size and weight, at the same time as boosting brightness.
The Creators of the LightPad is planning to ship in the second quarter of this year. Unfortunately, Creator QP Optoelectronics has not revealed any precise price tag for the device, although company states that the LightPad would possibly be around the price tag of $300.
