Here we go with a latest update from 2012 CES, where in Qualcomm, the Chip Manufacturer has unveiled a fresh new color e-reader at the 2012 Consumer Electronic Show in Las Vegas. Well, the new color e-reader is based on their mirasol display technology. Further the eReader is manufactured and released by Hanvon, which is the thinnest e-color display.
Paul Jabocs, the CEO of Qualcomm says that we have mentioned Qualcomm’s mirasol display technology multiple times at CES and received some hands-on with an already obtainable model. At the moment what we have is the brand new Hanvon, which is being boasted as the world’s thinnest and lightest color e-Reader.
The mirasol technology deploys a front-lit LED lighting system instead of the backlights, which we are familiar with tablets, smartphones, and the whole thing in between. The mirasol front-lit technology uses the surrounding and incoming light rather than brawl against it.
Hanvon C18 e-reader features a 5.7-inch XGA mirasol display with 1024 x 768 pixel resolution, armed with Qualcomm’s 1.0 GHz Snapdragon S2 class processor. Sadly, at the moment the Company did not provided any information regarding the price and precise release date of Hanvon C18 e-reader.
