Virgin Galactic Opens First Commercial Spaceport

Virgin Galactic has opened the first commercial spaceport. This spaceport America is the world’s first to launch commercial spacecraft. This latest spaceport is having two mile long runway. This runway opened in New Mexico desert, USA.

The company’s chief, Sir Richard Branson has celebrated the completion of Spaceport America. Space travel is limited to astronauts only. Now, the dream tourists to travel in space have come true and one British billionaire is said to be the first passenger in this spacecraft.

The airfield is 277,594 square meters and the runway is 61 meters wide by 3048 meters long. It is designed to support almost every aircraft in the world. Talking about the news, Mr Branson says, “From here we will see, perhaps daily flights into space, but also scientists, explorers of new opportunities beyond our planet,”
