China Unicom Wi-Fi-enabled iPhone

Chinese telecommunications carrier, China Unicom Ltd, has officially announced that it will star selling Wi-Fi-enabled Apple iPhones in China from August 9th 2010.

Last year, this iPhone has launched in China in October and attracted the customers of China. China Unicom, the partner of Apple’s iPhone will star selling its Wi-Fi-enabled 8GB iPhones 3GS model and Wi-Fi-enabled 16GB and 32GB iPhone models. But, the present iPhone 4 is no available in China market.

According to the China Unicom, Wi-Fi-enabled 8GB iPhones 3GS model is also based on WAPI standard. This new iPhone models will be available in China Unicom’s own outlets, Apples franchise stores and in retail chains of Suning Appliance Co. Ltd.
